We’re all unique. This isn’t news. But what you may not know is that our bodies react differently to nutrition and fitness. The type of food, quantity, and even what kind of exercise we engage in is highly personal. No two people are the same. So why should our approach to weight loss and overall wellness be the same?

Nutrition and Fitness Testing

With this in mind, Nourish has partnered with a company specializing in personalized weight management solutions based on genetic sciences.

We will combine your genetic test results with personal information such as age, weight, gender, height, and weight to determine your eating and fitness plan. Rather than specific food items, the test results will recommend a percentage of macronutrients (fats, protein, carbohydrates) you require per day for optimal wellness.

For example, you as an individual may require a different daily combination of macronutrients than your sister or your best friend. In fact, it’s most likely you do.

While you may operate best on a diet comprised of 50% carbohydrates per day, your sister may need 55% to keep burning calories efficiently. Understanding these nutrition ratios makes all the difference in a person’s ability to lose weight and make other positive changes in their lives.

Combine this information with a fitness profile as well and the combination is literally life changing.

But here’s the thing: We’re taking this one step further. We’re going to test and determine the exact food items best for your body.

Food Sensitivity Testing

This is the foundation of the Nourish Program, a crucial part of the program. No two people are the same. On an average cookie cutter weight loss program, one participant may lose 5 lb while another may lose up to 25 lbs. Frustrating! Not only for the participant, but for the practitioner as well.

This is the very reason we place so much emphasis on testing for food sensitivities and intolerances.

Consider this example: the general public thinks of spinach and apples as healthy food items. But in reality if we tested and found you’re severely intolerant to apples, your weight loss journey would be a difficult one.

When you continue to ingest items you’re sensitive to, your body recognizes it as foreign and develops an immune response, thereby increasing inflammation and causing a downward spiral in your overall health.

Your body is doing exactly what it’s designed to to do! Protect you! Now it’s our job to determine the foods best to Nourish your body. Simple and so effective.
